| The Club's Quiz Master extraordinaire, Barry Thorne, made last Monday's business meeting very special by serving his fellow members celebratory drinks – all in aid of commemorating his 50 years of service as a Rotarian! Half a century ago he became a member of a Rotary Club in South Africa. Due to his motley international career he was a member of a few different clubs before he finally landed in Maidenhead. Congratulations, cheers and thank you, Barry! | Our Club loves visits from other Rotarians! Quite often we are welcoming overseas visitors from as far away as India, USA or Australia. Anne Phillips, last Monday's guest, didn't have such a long way to travel. She came from Reading Matins, where she has been a member for the past 30+ years. President Maria Scavetta handed over the Club's pennant as a memento of the occasion. We were all delighted to meet Anne and hope to see her among us again soon! |
