| A report from our club member, Rotarian Eddie Clarke: I did it! 200 miles over four days from Exeter to Southampton. I am feeling a bit tired and sore but this is compensated by a sense of achievement, and the enjoyment of spending some special time with my son Richard. I am reaching out to thank you for sponsoring me in raising £2883 from 60 supporters. This is well above my expectations and I thank you most sincerely on behalf of the charity Become. The money raised by Biking for Children in Care stands at an amazing £56,000, (plus Gift Aid), which is a record. The weather was kind to us; had we been riding just three days before it would have been very difficult due to the heat wave. The ride was a trip down memory lane for me as we visited many of my childhood holiday camping sites. I met some lovely people who do so much for children in care. Once again, many thanks for your support and I enjoyed the experience so much I am tempted to do it again next year! |
