A message from the Rotary Club of Saint Cloud prior to our visit there on May 29th:
When friendship becomes a lever for peace
From May 29th to June 1st, our Rotary Club of Saint-Cloud will have the honour of welcoming nearly 100 Rotarians from France, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Italy for our Quadrilateral event.
Held in a different country each year, this event embodies the very spirit of Rotary: dialogue, international cooperation, and friendship in the service of peace.
A bit of history
The Quadripartite Convention was signed on November 22 1963, a landmark day in world history (the assassination of John F. Kennedy). Since that date, the clubs of Saint-Cloud, Maidenhead (UK), Tivoli (Italy), and Bonn Süd-Bad Godesberg (Germany) have met regularly to cultivate their friendship and jointly carry out projects in the service of peace – a unique Rotary tradition that spans decades and borders.
Youth Exchange
And because peace is also built by young people, the Quadrilateral also has an annual youth exchange between our four countries, fostering intercultural discovery, open-mindedness, and intergenerational brotherhood.
Beyond the shared convivial moments, these days are an opportunity to build joint projects together, exchange ideas, and strengthen our human ties.
Peace is not born only from treaties, but also from sincere relationships between peoples. And that is exactly what this event nurtures, year after year.
