Last Monday Rotary Club of Maidenhead welcomed back Natasha Wilson to give us an update on her pioneering work in different parts of Africa. She works for Smart Villages Foundation, which aims to promote integrated rural development in developing countries, harnessing innovative technologies and focusing on community-led sustainable solutions. Natasha has for years been involved with building solar power plants in Tanzania and Uganda as well as arranging for bore holes to be installed for the local people and their animals. Her very personal experiences, difficulties, challenges and lessons learned in Tanzania are as fascinating as an extract from a best selling book. We can't wait for her third return! |
