 A country garden in the centre of town This tiny postage stamp garden reflects the owner growing up in Kent – 'The Garden of England'. It is a secret garden hideaway from urban life, as she is very much a country girl at heart stuck in the centre of town. She has tried to keep it as a cottage garden and some family themes certainly run through it, but it has a Ukrainian 🇺🇦 peace flower bed of mostly blue and yellow flowers which came about from her work with the Sunflower Sisters, and is in remembrance of the amazing Ukrainian women who she has been very fortunate to work with. |  The 'Macron' lavender bed on the terrace wall represents the sea between Kent and France, and the herb hub with avocado, fig, nectarine and peach trees and hibiscus bushes represent her travels overseas. Roses, hydrangeas, sweet peas and tomatoes surround and hold her life and her little cottage garden together. In the front of the house are climbing roses, peonies, allium, hollyhocks and an experimental hibiscus hedge to replace the moth ridden box hedge, with blue borage popping up here and there (as her grandmother always said "Pimms isn’t Pimms without it"!). |
