MAIDENHEAD ROTARY CLUB CHARITY GOLF DAY
Wednesday 11 September 2024
Maidenhead Rotary Club held their Charity Golf Day at Maidenhead Golf Club on 11th September. This annual event enables golfers to enjoy a great day and also raises much-needed funds for Rotary charities.
The maximum number of players – 72 players in teams of four, played from a two-tee start, and golfers enjoyed a putting competition and on-course competition holes for nearest the pin and straightest drive. Rotary Club volunteers manned two halfway houses for refreshments. The putting competition resulted in the first hole in one shot, which was won by Rich McCrystal of Temple Golf Club. There were team prizes for 1st and 2nd place and also the best mixed or ladies team. |
The golf was followed in the evening by a dinner for competitors and guests, during which an auction was held, along with a Heads and Tails competition.
Eddie Clarke Chair of the organising committee said “Despite weather varying from lovely sunshine to hail, everyone had a great day, which was reflected in the many compliments we received. We raised an amazing £5,700 for our Charities, I would like to thank our volunteers, sponsors, particularly Shanly Foundation and of course all the golfers who took part on the day”.
