Young Rotary
Rotary encourages all family members to take part in activities and programmes, and specifically offers the chance for young people to develop personal skills and a better awareness of problems that face the world today. This is an opportunity to meet, work and have a great time with like-minded young people, guided and supported by Rotarians.
Rotaract for 18 to 30 year olds
Rotaract members are fun, enthusiastic and active young men and women aged 18 to 30. Membership provides the opportunity to meet new people, expand social life, try new activities, and make a difference in the local community. Clubs are either community or university based and are sponsored by a local Rotary club, making them key members of the Rotary family.
As one of Rotary's most significant and fastest-growing programmes, with more than 7,000 clubs in about 163 countries and geographical areas, Rotaract has become a worldwide phenomenon.
As well as enjoying many social activities, Rotaractors get a chance to make a real difference to people's lives. All Rotaract efforts begin at the local, grassroots level, with members addressing their communities' physical and social needs while promoting international understanding and peace through a framework of friendship and service.

OPEN UP A WORLD OF OPPORTUNITY
Do you want to meet local people, exchange ideas and find out how you can make a positive difference, not only to your local community, but to people around the world? Then Maidenhead Rotaract invites you to join them. Meeting on the first Tuesday of each month at 8pm in The Bear, the aim of The Rotaract Club of Maidenhead is to provide 18-30 year olds with an opportunity to get involved in the local community, and to meet like-minded people in the local area.
“We want to share the great things we’re doing in the community, and let others know how they can get involved, whist at the same time giving people the opportunity to network with community leaders and volunteers” said Erin Faul, Club Member.
Maidenhead Rotaract are a very active club, organising an annual OAP Christmas Party and much-loved Cheese & Wine Charity Fundraising Quiz each year. They also marshal at the Maidenhead Half Marathon, regularly volunteer at the local food bank FoodShare, run charity fundraisers and are generally out and about making our community a better place. In addition to the numerous community activities there are of course social ones, enabling members to get to know each other better and to have fun being involved in the local community. “Maidenhead Rotaract enables young people to join a global movement of young leaders who are developing innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges” commented Lisa Hunter, former President of Maidenhead Rotaract and current member of Maidenhead Bridge Rotary Club. “As Maidenhead Rotaract enters its 40th year we’re kicking off an exciting recruitment campaign to induct 40 new members for 40 years of fun, friendship and volunteering. So, it’s a really exciting time to get involved, giving you the change to learn new skills, meet new people, give back to the community and shape what you would like out of Rotaract,” Lisa continued. |
