On Saturday 12th March President Tony and Cathie, accompanied by Peter and Philippa Silverthorne, Pat and June Moore and Pat Lattimer, attended the District Conference which this year was held locally at Savill Court Hotel, Windsor Great Park. The format had changed from previous years, with an evening meal and entertainment on the Friday but the main conference day being only on the Saturday.
We heard 11 speakers during the day, with wide-ranging topics: Helen and Douglas House, Savill Garden, Children in Need, Thames Valley Adventure Playground, TVP Chief Constable, RI President's Representative PDG Ron Mabry, The Coxless Crew (a team of four girls who recently were the first to row across the Pacific), and finally TV personality Johnny Ball, who ended the session.
Delegates later attended a Gala Dinner with entertainment from Madison Heights, sharing a table with members of the Rotary Club of Oxford Isis.
