The Rotary Club of Maidenhead welcomed more than one hundred people who enjoyed a fabulously entertaining Indian Summer Evening on Saturday 5th September.
A three course Indian meal, a bar, an excellent disco and two high quality Indian dance acts made for an evening in which all the guests enthusiastically took part. The dancers, with Bollywood and Classical Indian dance, were mesmerising, the food great and the evening full of warmth.
The aim was fun and fund raising. “The atmosphere was so warm and lively that two fund raisers, including a raffle, raised more than £700 on the night,” said Yash Maudgil, treasurer; “Overall we have raised £1200, all of which goes to serve the community. Marvellous result.”

Tony Lodge, Club President, gave a very grateful thank you speech to the guests, committee members, the disco, dancers, caterers and helpers. “This was a great cooperative effort,” he said, “And thanks to your attendance and the work of all the organisers and helpers, it’s been a huge success. No doubt about it: we will have another one next year!”
