President Martin Trepte laid the wreath on behalf of the Rotary Club of Maidenhead at this year’s Remembrance Sunday service at the war memorial outside the town hall.
Martin joined representatives from Maidenhead Thames Rotary Club, the British Legion and other voluntary organisations for the outdoor service. The participating organisations, which included the emergency services, scouts and guides, first marched from Bridge Avenue to St Ives Road led by contingents from the army, air force and sea cadets. A bugler played the Last Post and Reveille, and the service included hymns and the national anthem accompanied by the Salvation Army band. Martin said: “It was a great privilege to lay the wreath on behalf of all members of Maidenhead Rotary Club on Remembrance Sunday.” |
