On Wednesday 11th July, 57 senior citizens of Maidenhead were treated by Maidenhead Rotary Club to an afternoon on the Thames. They were collected and taken to the river adjacent to Jenner’s cafe for a 2½ hour trip on the river to Cookham via Boulters Lock and Cookham Lock.
During the trip they were given a delicious tea of homemade sandwiches, cakes and jelly with ice cream,
which had been made by Rotary wives, partners and volunteers. The weather was excellent, perfect for an afternoon on the river. Many compliments were received from our guests who enjoyed going along Cliveden Reach to Cookham - a different direction from the usual trip.
This annual event is arranged by the Community Services committee of Maidenhead Rotary Club.
