On the afternoon of Sunday 28th April, Maidenhead Rotary Club held their annual Spring Tea Party at St John’s Ambulance Training Rooms, York Road, Maidenhead. Fifty six guests were treated to a glass of sherry or fruit juice on arrival. Entertainment was provided by Andrew Ingram’s Skiffle Trio with two guitars, a washboard and a kazoo. They played a selection of 50’s, 60’s & 70’s music plus a few comedy numbers. After a break for tea the trio then played a second entertainment session. The guests enjoyed afternoon tea with a selection of sandwiches and homemade cakes followed by jelly and ice cream, with a choice of tea or coffee. We must of course recognise the Rotary Wives for this excellent food. The Community Committee is trying to address loneliness and the more deserving members of our community, therefore guests were invited from Men’s Matters and The Sue Brett Foundation along with some of our usual invitees. |
