As one of our traditions, we always start our lunch meetings with a short quiz and every member is encouraged to participate. On our first meeting of Rotary year 2017/18 our Quizmaster Barry Thorne announced the results of the quiz during the past Rotary year. Barry was pleased to report that more members than ever were entering into the spirit of the quiz and for the first time for many years the winner was shared two members. The trophy is a statue of an owl which has been affectionately named “Ollie”, hand carved and presented to the club by club member Geoff Blacker. The joint winners of the “Ollie” trophy were Anne Matkin and Peter Graham and the photograph shows them being presented with the trophy by Barry Thorne on behalf of the Club. Congratulations to them both. |
