Two boys from Year 8 at Desborough have won prizes in the Rotary Club creative writing competition. Arjun Momi and Max Owens received their respective cheques for £100 and £50 from Mary Spinks CBE (a club member), in a Year 8 assembly on Thursday 9th May.
There were also a record number of prizes from the school for boys reading in excess of a million words this year and becoming reading millionaires. There is a very strong culture of reading and creative writing at Desborough.
Arjun is keen to express his kindness by generously giving his cheque to his sister for all her support. Max will demonstrate his gratitude to his inspirational teacher, Mrs Lockwood, by buying her some chocolates.
